Iran Wants Release of the Global Internet Network

Jakarta - Iran reportedly wanted to sever its ties with the global Internet network. The leaders of this Middle Eastern country intends to build its own Internet network.

This was done in an effort to control the Internet completely. Iran currently has implemented very strict internet censorship, assess the national Internet network can cut costs in addition to easier to enforce the moral codes of religion.

Reza Asl Bagheru as director of Telecommunications Ministry's Research Institute in Iran states that in the near future, 60% of the internet in homes and businesses will be handled in the internal network. Then in two years, the internet across the country planned to be transferred to the internal network.

Iran's current regime came to regard the invasion online about ideas, culture and the influence of western countries as a threat. Reported by FoxNes and quoted on Tuesday (31/05/2011), Iran's spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dub this phenomenon as 'soft war'.

Some parties considered, the construction of Iran's national Internet network is not separated from the demonstrations against the government's Middle Eastern country that among other things, thanks to the influence of the internet. Iranian authorities did not want a similar incident occurred in their country.

Not just plans to hold its own internet, local media in Iran also reported that they wanted to develop its own computer operating system. The goal is to replace the Microsoft Windows operating system.
